I had 3months pain,have 3cm lenght, 1cm deep dent in the inner part of my shin bone,i can feel when i pass my finger through it.can i have bone cancer?

No: While the central inner part of long bone is marrow, this is surrounded by the cortex. Most bone cancers are in the inner part of bone and when expanding cortex can be very painful. Parosteal lesions off surface are painless masses and don't produce indentation. Latter probably phlebitic in origin. An x ray should still be performed.

Exam needed: Three months of bone pain warrants an evaluation by your physician or an orthopedic surgeon. Appropriate x-Rays will be ordered after the assessment. Of course a malignancy is of concern but there are other causes of these symptoms.
