Excellent question: There's no magic. But (1) learn to distinguish hunger (the gnawing feeling that tells you that you truly need to eat) from appetite ("Mmm! That looks GOOD!" "Eating something would make me feel good right now.") (2) There are some medical syndromes that make people eat compulsively. Medication can help these; seek specialist guidance.
