Difficult to know: Your description does sound like a somewhat atypical presentation for chronic rhinitis. There are some established causes that would not be identifiable by imaging or scope, such as atrophic rhinitis (possible as medication side effect), or irritant rhinitis. A physician will ask more about the timing of symptoms and coexisting symptoms before deciding on treatment.
