Unsure: Your query got me interested in knowing what is causing this. It is strange as all causes of pharyngitis (viral, or bacterial) will cause sore throat in addition of redness. You mentioned that you already have seen MDs and I assume that you did not improve on antibiotics. It seems that further history and examination are required before anyone can form an opinion!
