How are carpal tunnel syndrome and tendonitis different?

See below:: In carpal t syndrome, the main nerve to the hand gets trapped against a thick ligament, causing pain, numbness in palm and fingers and these may even go up into the elbow or shoulder areas. Tendonitis is inflammation of the tendons of any finger or the wrist, causing local pain, swelling & restriction of motion, but no numbness is associated with it.

Many: Carpal tunnel syndrome means that there are symptoms from the median nerve being compressed inside the carpal tunnel. Tendonitis means that there is swelling of tendons. There are tendons all over the body, not just in the carpal tunnel
