TMJ Syndrome: Do you have increased pain when you open and close your jaw, and when you chew? Do you grind your teeth at night? Are you under a lot of stress? Most likely, you have temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome. I suggest getting an inexpensive tooth protector from a sports shop (they work almost as well as the expensive dental bite blocks), and try an OTC pain reliever (ibuprofen, naproxen).
