A member asked:

Can a lump that is shrinking in size be cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Shrinking lump: A lump that is shrinking, is certainly less likely to be cancer than one that is growing. However, occasionally a cancer will shrink, if something has caused part of the growth to die. In trying to determine whether a "lump" might be cancer, such as location, consistency, mobility to mention just a few. The only way to determine whether this is a cancer is to have your doctor examine it.
