Otitis media: The majority of otitis media cases are caused by viruses and a common approach is to treat the pain and inflammation and attempt to open the Eustachian tubes to help the fluid drain. If the pain is severe or there is suspicion that this is a bacterial infection, an antibiotic may also be used. All the best.
