Possibly.: "Chapped lips" (cheilitis) may be due to constant licking; simply applying vaseline several times daily might clear it. Less common causes include inflammatory skin conditions and allergic reactions, one of which is angioedema which can be an allergy to a drug or medication. A steroid cream can alleviated contact allergies; however, angioedema requires the discontinuation of the offending drug.
