A member asked:

What is a squamous papolomis in the esophogus? could it be a bad thing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Benign: If diagnosed microscopically to ensure no atypia or evidence of malignancy, squamous papillomas are generally a benign finding. They can be caused by irritation or related to HPV. Excision is the normal treatment and they do not tend to recur. Hope this helps!
