Ketotifen eye drops: Ketotifen is marketed over the couter as Zaditor (ketotifen) eye drops, and is used twice daily. Generally as effective as most prescription eye drops, and you only have to use it twice daily.

Options..: Allergic conjunctivitis: refrain from rubbing eyes and discontinue the use of contact lenses during symptomatic periods. Apply cool compress and liberally use artificial tears throughout the day. Practice allergen avoidance measures based on sensitivities. Try over-the-counter ophthalmic antihistamine, one drop to each eye twice daily (Zaditor, Alaway). OTC intranasal steroid sprays can be helpful
