Historically...: There is very little difference between chiropractic and osteopathy historically. In fact it is believed that the father of chiropractic, d. D. Palmer borrowed some concepts from andrew still's philosophy behind osteopathy. Today the professions couldn't be more different, with osteopaths practicing medicine & surgery alongside mds in the same hospitals.

There is a differenc: Chiropractors are trained on the spine and joints only. Osteopathic physicians are trained in all of medicine with additional training in manipulation of joints and spine.
