Unfortunately, those individuals, usually of darker skin tone, who are prone to keloid formation will get keloids following trauma to the skin. Specific areas such as the ears, chest, back, and shoulders have a higher incidence of keloid formation but I have seen keloids just about anywhere that the skin is traumatized.
