A member asked:

Could too much physical therapy cause trigger points after shoulder surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Try not to overdo: At times after surgery patients can tend to get too eager or impatient and try to push too hard. One can cause inflammation in related muscles. Scapular muscles are commonly inflamed. Talk to your therapist, modify or back off of some exercises for a few days and likely will see improvement so progress can resume.
