Is angioedima permanent?

Dr. John Chiu answered

Depends: on the cause. Many of the chronic cases without a known cause may subside in a few years. Of course drug-induced angioedema will only go away after the drug has been discontinued (the ACEI class of drug is notorious for this complication). In hereditary angioedema, only specific treatments can control it.
