Menopause IBS: menopause is a hormonal change women go through when their ovaries quit making hormones. The change in hormone levels can sometimes cause stress to aggravate IBS. Is she taking any hormone replacement? Has she had a colonoscopy? She will need to be seen in order to treat her correctly.
