A member asked:

I have a pretty bad cough that just started. no cold, feel fine, but it's a tickle in my throat that won't go away and keep coughing almost violently?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Causes of cough: There are many causes of cough that are not associated with infection. ACE-inhibitors, a common medication for high blood pressure, are a cause of cough. Reflux can cause cough in some people. Allergies and undiagnosed asthma may cause coughing. If none of these causes seem likely then you should see your physician for an exam and testing.
