Mittelschmerz: This is called mittelschmerz, meaning middle pain. It happens in some women every month and in some women only occasionally. There are many possible causes including rupture of the follicle on ovulation, muscle or fallopian tube contraction and small leakage of blood around ovulation. If pain is severe or prolonged see your doctor.
