A member asked:

I had a holter and the report says sdnn: 325,1 msec and rmssd: 98,2 msec what does this mean? what's normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

ItDepends,AskYourDoc: You don't know that?My God, man, where have you been? RMSSD is the root mean square of successive heartbeat interval differences and SDNN indicates standard deviation of normal to normal R-R intervals I mean, it's so obvious, right? But for us plebians they are, basically, measures of how regular the heart is beating. Irregular means skipped beats or maybe a very irregular rhythm(atrial fibrillation)
