What is the difference between hereditary and sporadic retinoblastoma?

Both are caused by : genetic defects. Hereditary Rb CAN be caused by a mutant gene inherited from one of the pt.'s parents, but each of the pt.s children WILL have a 50% risk of having Rb from inheriting the mutation. Sporadic Rb is caused by at least 2 mutations of the RB1 gene in the cells of one eye that are NOT passed on to the pt.'s children.
