A member asked:

What is the difference between creatinine clearance and inulin clearance?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Practicalities: Inulin is a strange sugar from the root of chicory and dahlias. It's a researcher's tool for a somewhat more accurate estimate of glomerular filtration than is offered by creatinine clearance. The latter, however, is readily available from blood and urine samples and requires no injection, so it's what is usually used clinically.
