It's the best way: Assuming everything is already going well, breastfeeding on demand is the best way to maintain your milk supply. Your breasts make more milk when they are emptied, so feeding on demand lets you respond to baby's growth spurts, illnesses, and anything else that comes up. Your body will match what baby needs.
