Not easy: As while the thermodynamic answer is simple, burn more calories than you consume. This is very difficult for most of us to accomplish. For most, the foundation of weight loss revolves around first controlling caloric intake. Its very difficult to lose weight if you don't reduce your caloric intake. Exercise helps too(and for other purposes beyond weight loss), as it helps burn calories.
