Positive by test ?: A fraction of the population are chronic strep carriers so even a positive strep test does not mean that is the only germ involved in a kids illness. The strep germ is easily killed by a number of abx, but it does take a day or two to get ahead of established germs. When a cold,flu or other co-existing germ is present, it may just have to run its course.Contact your doc if needed.
