Inflammatory nodes.: Most nodes in neck that represent a metastatic process are found along the jugular vein. Nodes at the nape of the neck usually drain the scalp and as such with scalp problems, this would be the cause of the process and almost always represent inflammation. This can be controlled with warm soaks to the scalp and at times antibiotics.
