A member asked:

I want to know how much risk for cancer i am at since last year i had 7 ct abdominal pelvic scans, kept going to er, finally had gallbladder out?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Too small to measure: "Scare" websites will tell you that CT scan radiation greatly increases cancer risk. In fact, each CT nowadays involves the extra radiation equivalent to living in Denver rather than Topeka for a few months -- an increased cancer risk that's not even measurable between cities. Life's hard enough without people frightening you. Glad you got the cause of your pain sorted out. Best wishes.
