Different treatment: But same results! Studies show that single dose treatment is often as effective as taking it for a week, but with better compliance (less likely to forget to take meds). There may be a little higher risk of stomach upset on the single higher dose, so that's the drawback. Hope that helps! Be sure not to drink any alcohol while taking metronidazole or you will get very nauseated!!!
