Typically unrelated: Typically a complex ovarian cyst would not be related to menstrual cycles. Discuss with your doctor if these need to be surgically removed

Complex cysts: Yes. Complex cysts are usually small, benign ovarian cysts which resolve spontaneously after one or two menstrual cycles. They often have no symptoms and appear as "incidental findings" on a pelvic ultrasound. The do not prevent periods.
