Gas : The gas is normal. More with Bottke fed babies. You may want to try a different nipple style. The oval nipple works well. Also the size of nipple holes also impacts how much air is swallowed. Try different sizes. The type of formula could also be the cause. Some infants do not tolerate milk based formula. Try gentlease or similac sensitive. Last you can try some gas drops (mylicon).

Yes: Newborns are born with immature digestive enzymes, which may leave them gassy. It takes 4-6 months for the digestive enzymes to fully develop. Best of health to your child.
