Ear infection: what is the reason you want to wash it out. Warm soap and water is good. If you have an infection, i would use the ointment for as long as it was prescribed. No need to wash it out. Let it dissolved naturally.

Wrong question: Why antibiotic ointment? Symptoms? Diagnosis? Pain? Blood or pus? Itch? Ears feel stuffed? Probably need to see ear DR (ENT). AVOID anything containing neomycin or bacitracin as these are not only useless, they may be harmful.
