Impacted wax: Water in the ear canal should not necessarily require an antibiotic. If you are not in significant pain, a very possible cause of the hearing loss may be impacted wax. This problem can be easily diagnosed and treated by an ENT doctor. Who made the diagnosis of an infection; a specialist or you primary physician?
