Where on the hip: This may be bursitis if it is on the outside of the pelvis. Hip pain is usually felt in the groin. You need to discuss with your physician. Imaging of the pelvis and this hip can clarify some of your issues. It could shown certain types of hip arthritis. Since you are on prednisone we would also consider avascular necrosis of the hip which can also occur.
