May be ok: Many patients have one tonsil larger than the other one. If there was a bacterial infection (such as strep throat), the tonsils should get smaller after the infection has been treated. A doctor can recheck, if a patient is having symptoms recur. A doctor can also help if a tonsil or tonsils are huge, or cause snoring (obstructive symptoms when sleeping), or cause a lot of coughing.
