Pain resolution: When patients are asked this question in studies, the answer that most give is complete resolution of pain that doesn't return. This is what you should be looking for in a treatment. It is not always completely successful, but there are agents that can greatly help reduce the frequency and intensity of the pain and other symptoms.

2 Types of Meds: Migraines are usually severe, one-sided, headaches with associated nausea/vomiting, incapacity, & vision changes. Triptans (imitrex, maxalt, frova, (frovatriptan) ) can be taken twice a day for complete relief of these symptoms. If migraines are frequent (twice weekly), severe, or long (always 3 days); then consider daily inderal, topamax, or amitriptylene. You should have an improved quality of life from meds.
