A member asked:

Is there a way to find out for how long one has been infected with gonorreah? or a way to see the damage it has done?

No: Unfortunately, there is no "time line" for gonorrhea infection as it depends on your body's immune system and resistance to infection. There is a way to check the Fallopian tubes post Rx treatment and that is with a negative repeat GC culture and either HSG or Fallopian tube insufflation at Laparoscopy to see if the tubes are still open.

Not really: There isn't a good way to know how long you have had gonorrhea. All your doctor can do is tell you you have it and treat it. There is also no easy way to know what damage has been done. There is a test called a Hysterosalpingogram that can give you some idea if your tubes are still open but it doesn't correlate perfectly with fertility. Best wishes!
