A member asked:

What is done to treat an infant born to a gonorrhea-infected mother?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Infant Gonorrhea mum: If mother had prenatal care then she has in all probability has been treated. But if the mother hadc no prenatal care and comes and deliver the baby and is diagnosed with gonorrhea, even then there is no risk to the baby as all babies born in us are treated with erythromycine opthalmic ointment to prevent gonococcal conjunctivitis. If there is coexisting chlamydia baby can be treated with azithromyci.
