My daughter has croup really bad and now is breaking out in a rash on her stomach. should i bring her in due to the rash ?

Croup: If her breathing is an issue, it takes precedence over the localized rash. Have her assessed in the ER. Elevating her head and keeping her envionment cool and not too dry will help with her breathing while you are making arrangements to have her assessed. All the best.

Mgt: If she is having difficulty breathing or is drooling, then a visit to the ED is indicated. If the rash appears blotchy and blanches when you press on it, the rash may be hives. Hives are associated with allergic reactions, and a visit to your physician is suggested. An anti histamine may be used to treat. Since croup can be caused by any of a number of viruses, the rash also may be viral.
