Likely not infected: These wounds usually do not get infected due to ample blood supply. If area becomes painful, reddened or drains pus it should be checked. If it is infected it will require oral antibiotics, such as Cephalexin.

Get doctor to see: Go back to the doctor who did the suturing and get it evaluated immediately. This visit is usually a free visit . Evaluation will determine whether infected or not and what would be an appropriate treatment

Infection: It can sometimes be difficult to tell if a wound is infected but common signs include increasing redness, swelling, tenderness, drainage or fever. Oral antibiotics are always preferred for infected skin wounds. Best of luck.
