Lip trauma pain: An antibiotic is not necessarily needed. Signs of infection other than pain would direct need for antibiotic therapy. Control pain with Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen products. If you suspect infection, take your 10 yo to his/her pediatrician or family doctor.
