sudden squishy lump on top of wrist. not usually tender. seems to fit the ganglion cyst descriptions. could it possibly be a more serious condition?

Cyst : Likely just a cyst.... An MRI would define it more.

Most likely: Ganglions are very common, they are freely mobile, soft and usually non tender. They can also get bigger or smaller.
