Can a person get hiv without the other person having antibodies first?

Dr. John Chiu answered

Vague question: If you meant can you get HIV from the only sex partner who may be infected with HIV but has not had positive antibody yet, the answer is yes. It is the presence of virus that matters. The presence of antibody is just a test to confirm its presence and does not take place until weeks or months later.
