Deep Restorations: The restorations were probably very deep, close to the nerve. If the tooth is sensitive to thermal stimulus, then the nerve is still alive, albeit inflamed. Is the pain getting better, worse, or staying the same? Do OTC pain meds take the edge off? How's the bite? Your dentist knows if the fillings were deep, ask them that specific question. If pain continues tooth may need root canal therapy.

I had tooth pain, dentist took xrays and sinuses were very dark on xray. He said because of how dark they are, it's probably congestion? but wouldn't that appear as light? He said it could be air or congestion? I thought normal sinuses would be dark.
