Staging; chemo: If it hasn't been done already, the next step is to find the site of origin of the cancer, and where else it may have spread. Small cell cancer USUALLY begins in the lung. Chemotherapy is the usual treatment for metastatic small cell cancer. The response rate is high. (Response means the tumor shrinks, and the patient's life is prolonged.) The cure rate is low but not zero. Good luck.
