A member asked:

After a cold sore, is it abnormal to have what feels like a toothache and sometimes tingling pain on cheek (both on same side as sore)?

Soft tissue ulcer.: A cold sore depending on how severe the lesions on the mucosal soft tissue lasts 7-10 days. An application of Abreva helps lessen the symptoms to 3-4 days. The cold sore may stimulate the Trigeminal V3 nerves on the cheek and face and cause tingling.

Yes, but: Yes, but after the cold sore resolves, dental pain should also resolve. If dental pain persists, see dentist.
