Is it okay to fly a week after a hernia operation?

If really necessary : It is hard to believe 3 decades ago after hernia repair not allowed even get out of bed ! now quick ambulation is the rule, ideal time is to wait for 3 wks, brief flight in uncomplicated case should be ok but you have to clear with your surgeon who knows more about you and if you do not want a recurrence.

Typically: You should ask your surgeon, but normally, yes. I am assuming this is a hernia of the abdominal wall and not involving the chest.

Check with your Dr: More than likely, you may be able to fly one week after hernia repair, just check with your doctor.
