Mom needs to see Doc: Both of these medications are benzodiazepines and have an additive sedating effect when taken together. Gait disturbance is common. Your mother may be sensitive to one or both medications resulting in vomiting. The elderly are particularly at risk and may fall. I recommend your mother see her doctor and have him or her develop a plan of care. This may include weaning or stopping these meds.
