Prescription : The right dose would be the prescribed dose since her doctor has evaluated her and would know her best. The usual starting dose is 0.25mg two to three times per day.

Varies: If regular dosing is needed, she needs to be aware that she will become physically dependent on the alprazalam (xanax (alprazolam)). This only means that when it is stopped, it should be tapered. If anxiety is intermittent, as needed use of xanax (alprazolam) 0.5 mg (or even 0.25 mg) would be starting dose. If regular medication needed, should consider other choices - many antidepressants, Buspirone and psychotherapy.
