Cardio type exercise: Many people have muscular calves and that is their hereditary anatomy. To get "leaner" muscles one should do low weight higher repetition type exercises. Riding a bicycle under low tension gears is also good. Swimming can be effective at creating a lean muscle structure. Do not expect rapid changes. Follow a sound diet as well.
