I have a severe itch that just started occurring. it worsens when i lay down and lessens when i stand up. it occurs from head to toe and i can't sleep?

Dry skin?: it could be allergy,or dry skin. the confusion part is the change between sitting and standing? my advice apply skin lotion before going to bed,and take benadryl (diphenhydramine) 50 mg at bed time and see if that will make it go away.
