Can stop with BCP: Once a woman has been bleeding for eight days and continues to have moderate to heavy flow, there is a concern about the woman becoming anemic (having low blood count or hemoglobin due to too much blood loss). You should have your hemoglobin checked to see if you are anemic. Your bleeding can be stopped with birth control pills, prescribed in a special way.
